Court says seven charged for the Sh109,000 Bungoma Wheelbarrows have a case to answer

A court in Bungoma has ruled that the seven suspects charged with the purchase of Sh109,000 wheelbarrows in the county have a case to answer.

The suspects who were members of the tender committee have now been put on their defense after the prosecution closed its case.

A 2015 audit report indicated that the county government procured 10 wheelbarrows for slightly more than Sh1 million.

This made the purchase the most expensive wheelbarrows in the country.

The accused include John Juma Matsanza, Howard Lukadilu, Oscar Onyango Ojwang and Ayub Tuvaka China. Others are Arlington Shikuku Omushieni, Jacquiline Nanjala Namukali and Reuben Cheruiyot Rutto.
