CFAO injects Sh30 Million into WRC Safari Rally

Auto dealer CFAO Motors Kenya has announced a sponsorship of Kes30 million towards the planning of the four-day 2024 WRC Safari Rally event, which will be staged in Naivasha during the Easter weekend.

This marks the fourth consecutive time that CFAO Motors Kenya is participating in the global motorsport showpiece, where its Toyota Gazoo Racing Team has recorded major wins in past editions.

During the cheque handover ceremony, CFAO Motors Kenya Managing Director, Arvinder Reel, expressed delight in once again being part of the exciting global motorsports event. He highlighted the opportunity to further entrench Toyota’s value proposition underpinned by the brand’s values of Quality, Durability, and Reliability (QDR).

“This year’s WRC Safari Rally offers us an opportunity to consider how to create a better world, a stronger sports system, and a path towards equity and sustainability. By entrenching SDGs, we are part of a global initiative that considers how social inclusion, poverty, the environment, education, and other key areas are connected and influence the lives of current and future sports participants,” Mr. Arvinder said.

As part of its involvement, CFAO Motors Kenya will showcase its Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) Hilux pickup and the GR Hilux as the official route openers, with displays of the RAV 4 Hybrid and the Corolla Cross Hybrid throughout the rally. This aims to entrench the Toyota brand’s core value proposition of QDR, exemplified by the GR team’s multiple victories in the Safari Rally.

Furthermore, CFAO Motors Kenya unveiled two-time African Athletics Champion, Ferdinand Omanyala, as its Brand Ambassador. His achievements will showcase Kenya’s talent and support for young people to fully harness their potential.

In collaboration with the Toyota Gazoo Racing Team, CFAO Motors Kenya will launch a nationwide road safety campaign for school-going children, distributing 10,000 glowing wristbands to primary schools to create awareness of road safety in communities.

The 2024 WRC Safari Rally has attracted over 50 foreign and local drivers, including the defending winning Toyota Gazoo Racing team composed of Kalle Rovanperä, Elfyn Evans, and Takamoto Katsuta.
