Hermanus is an attractive town that sits on the cliffs above Walker Bay, about 120 km southeast of Cape Town. It is best known for offering some of the world’s finest land-based whale-watching spot between the months of June and November when the Southern Right whales and some Humpback whales converge to calve.
The West Coast National Park, a short distance north of Cape Town is an internationally known site for marine birds, ten species of which breed from the park since a time long ago.
The park is also well known for its multihued spring wildflower displays, which usually happen in the months of August and September.
