Companies that need more computing capacity no longer have to spend weeks adding new servers and installing software. With cloud computing, they can do this in minutes.

Cloud services also tend to be more secure, since providers know better than their customers how to protect their computing systems against hackers & digital terrorists.

“We chose to partner with AWS because it offers customers the broadest and deepest cloud platform, overall commitment to security excellence, and a strong culture of customer obsession. This agreement will allow us to accelerate our efforts to enable digital transformation in Kenya,” says Safaricom CEO Michael Joseph.

Safaricom’s announcement to work with AWS has been met with interest by customers, with enterprises, startups, and government agencies expressing a desire to use the partnership to build their cloud strategy. AWS is a boon to startups, too.
