Covid map: Kenya seventh most affected country in Africa
Kenya has reported 622 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24-hour period bringing total caseload to 180,498 making the country the seventh most affected by the pandemic in Africa.
Latest data from Africa CDC shows that South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia, Ethiopia, and Egypt still remain the most affected countries.
South Africa has recorded the highest COVID-19 with 1,843,572 cases followed by Morocco with 527,174.
The cumulative Covid-19 death toll across the continent stand at 138,749 while 4,658,095 patients across the continent have recovered from the disease.
In Kenya, 30 people have succumbed to the virus in the latest 24-hour period bringing total fatalities from COVID-19 to 3,514.

“One of them in the last 24 hours while 29 are late deaths reported after conducting facility audit records on diverse dates in March, April, May, and June,” said health CS Mutahi Kagwe.
However, 313 people have recovered from the virus, 206 from home based and isolation care while 107 are from various health facilities countrywide.
On the Covid-19 vaccination campaign, over 1.2 million people have gotten a shot on the arm shot, with 997,420 being first dose receivers while 203,905 people have taken their second jab.
The ministry confirmed that the uptake rate of the second dose is 20.4 per cent, with the majority of recipients being male at 56 per cent.
However, the proportion of fully vaccinated adults in Kenya is still at less than one per cent.
