Brookhouse school says parents will not pay extra fees
Brookhouse parents will not be charged to re-enrol their kids when the new academic term commences next week.
Mr Rabih Saab who sits on the school’s board of directors says that the re-enrolment form sent to parents last week is a standard document whose sole purpose is to promote smooth administrative planning and better timetable scheduling.
In a letter sent to parents on August 8th, Mr. Rabih dismissed allegations that there was any kind of payment pegged on the re-enrolment form.
Rabih said that Brookhouse began using the form in January this year, long before the COVID-19 pandemic struck.
At the onset of the pandemic, the Ministry of Education ordered all schools shut until January 2021.
Now online at home learning has been a triumph for the absent pupils who had become some of the pandemic’s most visible victims.
But even though some elements like creativity and group work are harder to foster online, a structured online-version of class-work could be amazingly close to the real thing.
For instance, Brookhouse says that its virtual classes which it began offering in March have enabled its pupils to conclude the 2019/20 academic year and complete their assessments towards final IGCSE and A‐Level grades.
The swanky institution says it will continue with its live online classes for the first term of the new academic year which kicks off on Tuesday, August 18th.
In addition to offsetting transport and boarding costs, parents without fee balances for the last academic year will receive fee discounts of between 20 to 50 per cent during the new academic year.
