Minet Kenya calls for corporate support for kids with cerebral palsy
Insurance brokerage firm, Minet Kenya, is seeking alliances with like-minded organisations to enhance financial and support in kind for children living with Cerebral Palsy (CP), enabling them to lead comfortable and independent lives.
Speaking during a visit to the Cerebral Palsy Society of Kenya (CPSK) offices in Nairobi, Head of Client Experience and CSR, Judith Atieno lauded the partnership between Minet Kenya and CPSK, saying it has eased challenges facing by families and individuals living with CP.
The visit came ahead of this year’s charity event which is slated to be the inaugural trail run dubbed ‘A Mile for Good’ that will be held on 13th September at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
“Minet is committed to walking the journey with The Cerebral Palsy Society of Kenya to ensure that children receive medicine and crucial therapy twice a week as well as meeting the nutritional needs for healthy growth,” she said.
Since 2014, Minet has partnered with CPSK and directly provided support to over 30 children and young adults who have attained crucial milestones that have enabled them to live independently.
On his part, CPSK Chairman, Mr. Pinto Otieno said Minet’s continued support to CPSK will see beneficiaries continue to access therapy, diapers and medicine which he noted are expensive.

“The partnership with Minet and like-minded organisations and individuals has enabled the society to support hundreds of children and young adults with CP since CPSK’s inception in 1994,” said Mr. Otieno.
During the visit, Minet Kenya was accompanied by members of the Kenya Harlequin Football Club who also expressed their commitment to support the Society.
The visit is part of Minet’s efforts to raise awareness on Cerebral Palsy to reduce societal stigma as well as to raise funds that will enable the society to facilitate crucial therapy needed by CP children as well as young adults with the condition.
