DTB partners with Homa Bay County for economic growth
Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) has announced a Kes3 million partnership with Homa Bay County in support of the upcoming Homa Bay International Investment Conference, scheduled for 27th to 29th February.
The partnership is geared towards fostering sustainable economic growth in the region by encouraging long-term financial strategies and connecting investors with opportunities in Kenya.
The Homa Bay International Investment Conference aims to attract investments that will contribute to the county’s economic development and prosperity, with a focus on creating opportunities for SMEs.
DTB Group CEO and Managing Director Nasim Devji expressed confidence in Homa Bay’s potential for economic growth, citing its strategic location, vibrant population, and visionary leadership.
“We believe it will help open up opportunities for the county, by attracting investors to harness its diverse opportunities,” said Ms. Devji. She highlighted DTB’s alignment with the county’s efforts, especially its financial literacy programs for SMEs and sustainability initiatives in the blue economy, emphasizing DTB’s commitment to responsible banking and sustainability.
Homa Bay County Governor Gladys Wanga welcomed DTB’s partnership, noting that the conference aims to showcase the county’s opportunities, attract investors, and create jobs for its youth.
The conference, themed “Unlocking the Bay of Endless Potential,” seeks to showcase bankable investment opportunities, facilitate interactions and sharing of ideas, unveil investment opportunities in various sectors, and promote wealth creation in a sustainable environment.
DTB’s support for Homa Bay County aligns with its strategic expansion roadmap, which includes bringing services and products closer to customers. The bank opened a branch in Oyugis town last year and plans to open another in Homa Bay town later this year, aiming to drive financial inclusion and economic empowerment in the region.
