Market report: NSE turnover soars to Sh1.1bilion boosted by BAT

Boosted by the sale of B.A.T shares, turnover soared to Kes.1.1Bn from the previous session’s Kes.215M, the number of shares traded stood at 13.7M against 7.5M posted yesterday.

The NSE 20 share Index was up 0.23 points to stand at 2877.54.
All Share Index (NASI) gained 0.06 points to settle at 145.30.
The NSE 25 Share index picked up 9.02 points to stand at 3706.51.
Banking
The Banking Sector had shares worth Kes.267M transacted which accounted for 22.96% of the day’s traded value. Equity Group Holdings actively moved 3M shares valued at Kes.124M at between Kes.39.00 and Kes.41.00. KCB Group moved 2.58M shares valued at Kes.103M and closed at Kes.39.95. Diamond Trust Bank up seventy-five cents to Kes.150.75 moved 168,000 shares valued at Kes.25M.
Commercial & Services
The Commercial & Services Sector had shares worth Kes.3.58M transacted which represented 0.31% of the day’s traded value. Nation Media Group moved 55,000 shares valued at Kes.3.2M at a fairly stable price of Kes.58.00.
Energy & Petroleum
