MPs angered by absent Housing CS
National Assembly Housing, Urban Planning and Public works committee, has rejected Cabinet Secretary Zacharia Mwangi Njeru principal secretaries Charles Hinga and Joel Loremoi from representing him in a committee meeting.
Committee Chairperson, Emurrua Dikir MP Johanna Ngeno, protested the absence of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Planning Cabinet Secretary who snubbed the legislators invite for a trip to Lamu on ‘official business’.
Mr Ngeno said MPs have several issues to raise with the CS on these departments, and his attendance of the meeting is vital.
Cabinet Secretaries are supposed to appear before parliamentary committees but President William Ruto has been pushing for changes to parliamentary rules to allow them to be summoned to the floor of the August House for grilling.
