CFAO Mobility Kenya, in collaboration with the Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team (TGR-WRT), has launched the Toyota Road Safety Mural Drawing Competition, an initiative designed to instill road safety awareness among schoolchildren.
Building on the momentum of the #RoadSafety4All campaign introduced last year, this nationwide competition underscores CFAO Mobility Kenya’s unwavering commitment to fostering safer roads for all.
By harnessing the power of art, the initiative empowers young learners to reimagine road safety and creatively depict their vision of safer streets.
More than just a contest, the competition serves as a platform for children to express their understanding of traffic rules and share innovative ideas on promoting responsible road behavior.
With road accidents claiming a child’s life every four minutes globally—according to the World Health Organization (WHO)—and over 40 percent of Kenya’s road fatalities involving vulnerable users like children, the urgency for proactive education has never been greater.
The Mural Drawing Competition is a timely intervention, equipping the next generation with essential road safety knowledge while fostering creativity and awareness in a meaningful way.
“Children are among the most vulnerable road users, and it is crucial to empower them with the knowledge and tools to stay safe. The Mural Drawing Competition not only fosters creativity but also allows children to internalize road safety lessons and become advocates for change within their communities," noted CFAO Mobility Kenya Managing Director, Arvinder Reel.
On the other hand, the NTSA Director-General, George Njao lauded the initiative saying that it will help make roads safer through the dissemination of best practices and rules.
“Through the #RoadSafety4All campaign, we see an opportunity to effectively engage children who at most times have challenges with reading and interpreting road signs and judging proximity, direction, or speed," said Mr. Njao.
Through education and advocacy, CFAO Mobility says it is committed to shaping a future where children become champions of road safety, contributing significantly to the vision of zero road fatalities.
