Rall_E ignites Kenya's electric mobility revolution

As the Africa Climate Summit (ACS) gets underway in Nairobi the need of Kenya and other economies across Africa to limit the use of fossil fuels by among others adopting electric vehicles is gathering pace.

Policymakers and governments agree that the African continent needs to revolutionize clean, affordable, and accessible mobility. Rall_E—an electric mobility initiative is gathering pace, promising to be a game-changer in the transportation landscape.

Comprising engineers, entrepreneurs, academics, and government officials, Rall_E seeks to accelerate the transformation of sustainable transportation across Africa. Initiated by TES Network, Rall_E is leveraging a series of side events organized around the Africa Climate Action Summit to propel sustainable mobility across Africa.

Potential of electric mobility

From bicycles and motorcycles to personal cars and buses, Rall_E showcased an array of electric vehicles on Sunday underscoring the potential of electric mobility to reshape transportation in Africa.

Uhuru Park hosted the Electric Mobility Pavilion, a focal point for cutting-edge developments in electric transportation. Here, academia, industry leaders, and supporting institutions converged to provide attendees with a firsthand look at innovations in sustainable mobility.

The session attracted over 80 investors from around the world, who gathered both in person and remotely. In collaboration with the Africa E-Mobility Alliance, this space promises to catalyze investment and collaboration opportunities, marking a significant step toward the future of sustainable mobility in Africa.

Mohamed Ali, Kenya's Special Climate Envoy, said: "This is a declaration of Africa's determination to lead in the electric mobility revolution. With governments, industries, and innovators coming together, we are writing a new chapter for our continent's sustainable future. This gathering signifies that Kenya and indeed Africa are not only ready but eager to embrace electric mobility as a path to cleaner air, economic growth, and job creation."
