You can now buy groceries in Nigeria, Ghana on Paybills.Africa
A US based company Brij Technologies, has launched a platform that allows buyers to settle bills across Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria called Paybills.Africa.
Launched at the sidelines of the US Africa Financial Inclusion Conference, sponsored by the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), the company promises the platform will boost cross border trade by settling deals with local currency.
A check on their website shows traders can settle bills over a couple of stores in Kenya while Nigeria and Ghanaian stores are yet to go online. The platform claims it will offer settlement for stores across the world.
Africans looking for closer trade ties need faster and less costly settlements while trying to navigate different currencies. Digital companies such as Brij are setting up links between countries, banks and digital currencies to offer such solutions.

Brij Technologies' platform allows for seamless integration with banks, fintech companies, and telecommunications providers. In a significant partnership, Brij Technologies announced its collaboration with Flutterwave and Digital Credit Management Ltd (DCM), which operates in West Africa and provides a unique nano lending product.
“Whether it's paying bills or requesting payments, everything is settled in your local African currency,” said Nicholas Koros, CEO of Brij Technologies.
DCM, licensed as an Enhanced Payment Service Provider by the Bank of Ghana, operates in Ghana and has agreements with telecom operators such as Airteltigo and Vodafone, granting access to over 3 million mobile money subscribers' data.
Through this partnership, Brij Technologies gains access to DCM's digital lending platform and payment services in Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire, while DCM benefits from Brij's country operations, particularly in West and East Africa.
