Whisky on the rocks, is Kenya market ready for Moet’s premium brands
Moet figures Kenyans are ready for its story to sell premium whiskey Glenmorangie, a single malt Scotch Whisky which is among its product offering as it expands its market.
Glenmorangie’s business development manager Charlie Steel says the brand prides itself on being handcrafted by the men of Tain as opposed to using machines.
The brand draws its exclusivity from being curated from the tallest distilleries in Scotland, drawing water from the high mineral pool and being matured in bourbon casks.
Mr. Steel says that the casks are only used twice, and that offers the brand the fruity mixes without the spicy edges of new casks.
The premium whisky is seeking to capture the maturing Kenyan market which is moving away from the blended whiskies seeking more discerning high-end tastes.
The brand will roll out three more varieties of extra-matured single malt Scotch whisky Glenmorangie including Lasanta and Quinta Rubin alongside the original pioneer that has done well in the Kenyan market.
Moet signed a distribution deal with Viva Global, a Kenyan importer and distributor of international alcoholic beverages last year to supply brown spirit brand Hennessy cognac; champagne Moët & Chandon; single malt whisky Glenmorangie and Belvedere premium vodka.
