Top suspect in stolen lorry arrested
Simam Kagema Mwangi, the prime suspect in the theft of a Mitsubishi lorry reported missing on April 1, 2024, has been arrested following the recovery of the stolen vehicle.
The lorry, bearing registration number KDK 583G, was found concealed in a garage located in Karen. Authorities discovered that fake insurance and registration plates, with the number KCT 446R, were being installed on the vehicle to alter its identity.
The search for the missing lorry started after its disappearance was reported at Kiamaciri Police Station by the manager of Kanini Haraka Enterprises Ltd. The vehicle, a Mitsubishi Fuso, had been stolen between Kenol and Makutano, with its tracker vandalised.
The efforts of DCI officers from Mwea West and Thika West culminated in the arrest of the 30-year-old suspect in Thika. Subsequently, the authorities proceeded to the garage where the lorry was undergoing modifications.
Simam Kagema Mwangi was put in custody pending his arraignment today, Monday, April 15, 2024.
