Absa deepens Nairobi reach with Kawangware branch

Lender Absa Bank Kenya has opened a new branch in Kawangware area, bringing its branch network to 87 as the financial institutions continues to take services closer to individuals and businesses.
The new unit in one of Nairobi's business hubs is located at Kawangware’s Soko Safi Mall. Absa said the branch will offer individuals, businesses, and the wider community convenient, accessible, and tailored banking products and services.
Customers will access a full-service banking hall, a 24/7 ATM and cash deposit machine, all complemented by a strong agency banking network, and mobile banking to reach customers where they live and work.
Absa Bank Kenya CEO, Abdi Mohamed, said the move underscores the Bank’s commitment to deepening financial inclusion in key growth corridors and supporting Kenyans in their personal and business journeys.
"Kawangware is a strategic gateway into Nairobi home to hardworking individuals, small businesses, and families who embody the spirit of enterprise. As part of the launch, the Bank also flagged off a caravan, an initiative aimed at empowering enterprises and individuals in Kawangware and surrounding areas, including Dagoretti, Kikuyu, and others, with financial knowledge, relevant solutions, and tools that meet their current needs. This forms part of a nationwide drive by Absa to engage Kenyans directly and support their business and personal aspirations.
Speaking at the event, Absa Kenya’s Consumer Banking Director, Moses Muthui, highlighted how the bank is bringing these solutions closer to customers in markets, shops, and schools and making banking more accessible and impactful where it matters most.
